Off-pump CABG procedures and mediastinitis: report on 723 consecutive patients.
Method We included in the study 723 patients submitted to elective CABG-off pump procedure in the 15 year-period 2000-2014. The characteristics of our sample included: 498 male and 225 female patients. Mean age was 68,7 ± 6,9 years. The vast majority of patients (644-89%) were submitted to off-pump procedure, mostly with skeletonized bilateral internal thoracic artery (BITA) revascularization. ...
متن کاملDaily comparison of respiratory functions between on-pump and off-pump patients undergoing CABG.
OBJECTIVE Widespread application of on-pump revascularization procedures is increasing due to the thought of elimination of untoward effects of cardiopulmonary circuit. Thus, whether off-pump coronary artery surgery eliminates side effects especially related to respiratory functions is still controversial. Although many previous studies have evaluated these respiratory functions, daily comparis...
متن کاملIn hospital outcome of patients undergoing coronary endarterectomy: comparison between off-pump vs on pump CABG.
BACKGROUND Due to advancement of non-surgical methods of coronary revascularization the patients referred for surgery have extensive and complex coronary anatomy. Patients with diffuse atheromatous coronary artery disease required coronary artery reconstruction or coronary endarterectomy (CE). Coronary endarterectomy on beating heart needs skill and better surgical technique. Coronary endartere...
متن کاملPostoperative arrhythmias after coronary artery bypass grafting: a comparison between 'off pump' and 'on pump' CABG.
BACKGROUND Coronary artery bypass without cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) has gained popularity recently with the development of devices that allow for improved exposure and standardization in off pump coronary artery bypass surgery. Off pump coronary artery bypass surgery reduces some of the morbidities traditionally attributed to CPB. The primary goal of off pump coronary artery bypass surgery i...
متن کاملComparison of long-term outcomes between Off-Pump CABG and conventional CABG.
Method This retrospective study was based on data from 183 patients who underwent CABG between January, 2000 and December, 2005. OPCAB was performed in 102 patients and c-CABG in 81. The mean follow-up duration was 107 months. The end-points of long-term results were overall death, freedom from cardiac death and major adverse cardiac events (MACE). We expressed the Kaplan-Meyer survival curve, ...
